The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) examines the modern, on-trend catering offered by Murray Edwards College, Cambridge and includes detail about what is on offer to both students and external guests.
The article describes what food and drink students receive from College and talks about (amongst other things) the fantastic brunch service, which has received acclaim from the University’s student body and discusses whether pressure is felt to compete with high-street retailers. We have recently developed new, homemade products, such as cookies, iced coffee and raw bars for conference and meeting clients. General Manager Chris Pope said “It is an enjoyable challenge to have the opportunity to develop new products and extremely satisfying that we have already received feedback that shows we have exceeded expectations.”
We have seen demand from both external and internal customers for increased vegan and vegetarian options and more variety in these areas. As well as providing this very quickly to students, the College are revamping their conference and meetings menus to respond to the change. Our kitchen always uses fresh ingredients that are responsibly sourced in our contemporary menus.
External clients are often looking for ways to add value to their events and enhance the guest experience. Conference and meetings clients can offer their delegates a tour of the New Hall Art Collection, which is the second largest collection of women’s art in the world and use the informal but beautiful gardens for mindfulness walks or break-out groups.
